Hi PixLab Support Team,
We are currently evaluating PixLab’s DOCSCAN capabilities for production use, primarily for extracting data from national IDs, passports, and other documents across multiple countries.
Before we proceed, we’d like to confirm a few operational details that are not addressed in the DOCSCAN API documentation:
  1. Service Availability
Could you share your current uptime statistics for the DOCSCAN service? This will help us assess reliability for our production workloads.
  2. High-Volume / Enterprise Usage
We are planning for sustained, high-volume traffic. Are there recommended limits, rate guarantees, or enterprise tier options to ensure stable performance under heavy load?
  3. Self-Hosting / On-Prem Deployment
Does PixLab offer an option to self-host or deploy DOCSCAN within our own cloud environment? If available, please share the requirements, licensing model, and any technical considerations.
We appreciate your assistance and look forward to your response as we plan our integration.

 Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the PixLab support center. To answer your questions:

  1. Service Availability & SLA
DOCSCAN is served through PixLab’s API infrastructure with uptime consistently above 99.9% over the past years. While the public SaaS tier does not include a formal SLA, enterprise customers can be assigned dedicated processing nodes with guaranteed availability. These dedicated instances are isolated from public traffic and receive priority routing for predictable performance.
  2. High-Volume / Enterprise Usage
DOCSCAN comfortably handles large, sustained traffic. There are no hard rate limits when you operate under an enterprise plan. For very high workloads, we recommend a dedicated compute instance, which ensures stable throughput and protects your processing capacity from global traffic patterns. If you can share your estimated daily or monthly volume, we can size the instance accordingly.
  3. Self-Hosting / On-Prem Deployment
PixLab does offer a full on-premises version of DOCSCAN. This includes all components required to run the engine inside your own infrastructure.

Key Points

  • Fully self-contained and deployed on your servers (Linux environment).
  • No telemetry, no external calls, and full control of document processing and extracted data.
  • One license per deployment, billed monthly or quarterly.
  • Hardware recommendations depend on expected throughput, but a modern CPU with GPU acceleration optional for heavier workloads.
